Nancy Pelosi is remarkably consistent. During the election campaign, she attacked Republicans for proposals to tackle the nation’s fiscal problems. After the election, she is attacking the co-chairmen of President Barack Obama’s fiscal commission for the same offense.

What was all that about how Americans can’t abide a “party of no” again? Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles, the Republican and Democratic chairmen of Obama’s commission respectively, shocked Washington with a bipartisan proposal that isn’t the typical wishy-washy fare. It is starkly forthright about our fiscal mess and about potential solutions. [Full Story »]

Dear editor,

Folks, Dodge County has been blessed with some truly extraordinary athletes over the years that have put smiles on our faces and pride in our hearts. This year’s DCHS Lady Indians softball team was no exception. What a tremendous group of girls that played their hearts out all season long.
We live in a politically correct day and age that must amaze and frustrate anyone who grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. [Full Story »]

Now that it’s Thanksgiving, would you consider why it is not a time just to celebrate with all kinds of parties and luxurious foods? We can start by thanking our Lord and Savior for still being alive and living in one of the greatest nations that has ever existed.

Dear editor,

It is Thanksgiving week and I am so thankful to live my life in Dodge County. I want to THANK EVERY VOTER who took the time to go to the polls and vote. It was an out-pouring of the voices in Dodge County who want a CHANGE in the education of our children, our most precious pride and joy. It was a voice to say NO MORE TAXES. It was a voice to say NO MORE TEACHER FURLOUGHS. A voice saying we are tired of the CENTRAL STAFF getting all the HIGH SALARIES. A voice saying STOP to the UNNECESSARY JOBS just to satisfy BOARD FAMILIES and FRIENDS. We have to learn to live within our means – Good Budgeting. [Full Story »]
