A Little Common Sense

William Voegeli wrote a book about the ever-growing welfare state in the United States and throughout the Western world titled “Never Enough.” In the tea party, we hear the countervailing cry, “Enough!”

We, as the board of commissioners of Dodge County, would like to set the record straight. We do appreciate the fact that you try to cover our board meetings to keep the citizens informed. I am writing on behalf of my client, Dwayne Conley. As you know, I recently spoke on Mr. Conley’s behalf at a Dodge County Board of Commissioners meeting about some concerns he had with the boat landing project.

There is a current situation that the citizens of Dodge County need to be made aware of; namely, the construction of a boat landing by a certain group using subterfuge to the maximum.

County commissioner chairman Dan McCranie admitted that he has authorized payments for work performed on this project without notifying or informing the other commissioners of the preceding and ongoing status of this project. [Full Story »]

It is time I address the questions about the school board lawsuit that Julius Gillespie and myself initiated for the Concerned Citizens Group on April 21, 2009.

I have been confronted by numerous friends that wondered about this lawsuit, especially now that it is time to elect new school board members this November 2, 2010. Let me refresh your memories because what led up to the lawsuit began about this time of year in the fall of 2008. [Full Story »]

I am one of around 50 Dodge County school bus drivers. Like my fellow bus drivers, we do this job because we need to, for the money and the benefits.

We stay at this job because we love the kids. If you do not like kids, then you do not need to be in the school system at all, because no matter what you do, no one is paid what they deserve. The reason I am taking time to write this is the same reason I take my time picking up and taking home my students. [Full Story »]

Our congress has the lowest rating than any congress in the history of our country, so look at the leaders first, then those that back them.

We must then decide who should be fired. Speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi said she would make sure to rid the house of corruption (republicans), yet she will prop up people like Charlie Range, Barney Frank and others that were bribed to pass the health care bill.

Majority leader of the senate Harry Reed, who cut special deals for his state Nebraska and Louisiana Purchase, special deals for union members. These two should be fired election day in November 2010. [Full Story »] 

To the voters in Georgia:

Having practiced Orthopedic Surgery in Albany and Southwest Georgia for over 32 years, I have come to realize that one in 10 Georgians live too far from a trauma center to receive life-saving care. 

Thus the need for the “Yes 2 Save Lives Campaign” that urges Georgia voters to support a more reliable method of funding for the state’s trauma care system. [Full Story »]
