The Heart of Georgia Regional Airport, in cooperation with Middle Georgia College aviation campus, is pleased to announce that bi-plane rides will be available all day during the second annual Georgia State Shine and Show Fly-In on Saturday, June 12, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The 9-10 year old Boys All-Stars won first place in the Soperton All-Star tournament on Saturday May 29.

After a long day of baseball, Dodge defeated Telfair County in the championship game to bring home the first place trophy.

Governor Sonny Perdue signed House Bill 23 on Friday, June 4.

The legislation, sponsored by Representative Matt Ramsey, makes it illegal for anyone under 18 to use a cell phone while driving.

“We need to do everything possible to focus young drivers on the road ahead,” said Governor Perdue regarding HB 23. “I want to thank Representative Ramsey for working hard on this bill.” [Full Story »]

Dodge County Middle School held its athletic awards program in the school gymnasium on Thursday, May 27.

Football awards were given to Romello Cummings, Mason Veal, Hunter Graham, Jamarius Black, Kelby Amerson, Zalen Floyd, Russell Fruitrail, Dalton Rogers, Josh Edwards, Cole Honeycutt, and Derick Rogers.

Soccer awards were given to Alex Alejos, Cole Honeycutt, Greg Pittman, and Luke Taylor. [Full Story »]

Dodge County High School graduated 184 students, including 33 honor graduates, on Friday night, June 4.

Commencement exercises were held outside at Memorial Stadium.

Seniors wait anxiously to receive their diplomas.

Rashes of car break-ins have been reported throughout Dodge County over the last two (2) weeks.

The thieves have been taking firearms, money, GPS devices and other items from unlocked vehicles parked at residences.

The break-ins have occurred in the Lakeview and North Lakes subdivisions outside of Eastman and also in the Rhine/Milan area. [Full Story »]
