Barack Obama rose to prominence after his thunderously unifying message at the 2004 Democratic Convention. The theme of effacing the political and cultural differences between red and blue states carried him through the 2008 election.

It turned out to be as unrepresentative a campaign as FDR running on balancing the budget in 1932 or George W. Bush touting a humble foreign policy in 2000. Obama, the erstwhile unifier, has set up a fierce ideological struggle over the direction of the country that will rage through 2010 and 2012: Will America make its peace with European-style social democracy, or will it continue to stand out among other advanced Western nations in its relatively robust economic freedom? Dear Editor:

The holy Bible is the one book that will sustain all of mankind.
It describes things that will lure one away from absolute commitment to Christ: suffering, temptation, doubts, fears, frustration and the teaching of others. People, we must be willing to face suffering and persecution. The Bible grows out of God’s love for us, shown in Christ’s death. Jesus Christ is the Alpha and the Omega. He once was dead but behold He is alive forever. One should not be afraid of dying when Christ holds the key to open and close death and hell. No matter what men do say or know, Christ will always have the last say so. False teaching in the church will lead the church from its devotion to Christ. Have we forgotten that we must repent? Faithfulness in death and overcoming false teaching leads to eternal life. [Full Story »]
