African nation leaders need more money from the “rich” nations of the world, a mere “$67 billion per year to mitigate the impact of global warming on the world’s poorest continent, according to a draft resolution seen by Reuters on Monday,” says writer Tsegaye Tadesse on Reuters.com. That should be the name of the week.
This sounds great to me - a mere - just $67,000,000,000 ($67 billion) per year breaks down to a mere $183,561,640 per day ($183.56 million). After all, we’re rich and have money stacked to the ceiling to send to poor countries in perpetuity. [Full Story »]

The Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, along with Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Dodge EMS, were dispatched to a mobile home fire on Golden Road early Sunday morning around 3:38 a.m. Emergency personnel arrived to find a single wide mobile home engulfed in flames. The mobile home was a rental property belonging to Myrtice Golden and was a total loss. The fire was quickly determined to be caused by arson. [Full Story »]

The summer holidays are something to celebrate. But they have a deadly reputation on the road. Because too many summer party-people leave their designated drivers behind at the barbecue. And that means too many Georgians will die in alcohol-related crashes during the Labor Day weekend. There’s a traffic fatality every thirteen minutes on America’s crash clock with no time off for holidays.
In 2007 more than 13,000 people died in highway crashes involving drivers with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or higher. The FBI projected 1.5 million nationwide DUI arrests that year. Across the country drunk driving persists as one of America’s deadliest crimes. [Full Story »]
