The Dodge County Middle School Lady Warriors opened their 2011 softball season on August 16 with a 6-1 win over Telfair County in a scrimmage game at the Eastman-Dodge Recreation Department.
Dodge got on the board in the first with a RBI single from Margaret Simmons. Dodge added a run in the second and three late runs put the game away in the 6-1 win. Briana Perdue got the win on the mound for Dodge. Hallie Holloway struck out the side in the seventh to wrap up the game.
Simmons went three for four in the game with a pair of doubles and a RBI. Leah Creech went for two for three with a run scored and a stolen base. Faith Manning added a pair of hits and a RBI in the game. Julianna Belflower, Halie Pavsich, and Allie Parkerson added RBI’s in the game for Dodge.
The team will be in a tournament this Friday and Saturday in Jeff Davis. The region opener will be on the road at Vidalia on September 6 and the home opener will be on September 8 against Swainsboro.
