Dodge County Election Superintendant John Kelly has called for a special election to fill the unexpired term of Dodge County District 4 Commissioner Archie Dupree due to his untimely death on Sunday, July 10.
The special election will be held on September 20, 2011.
District 4 voters will include the following precincts: part of Chauncey, part of Lee, and Mitchell. If anyone has questions about what district they vote in, they may contact the Dodge County Registrar at 478-374-8123.
Qualifying for the special election will be held at the Dodge County Probate Court in the Dodge County Courthouse, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011 and ending at 5:00 p.m. on August 10, 2011. The qualifying fee will be $90.00.
All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on August 22, 2011.
Early voting will be held as soon as ballots can be printed and voting machines calibrated. Polls will open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on election day.
Should a runoff be required, such runoff will be held on October 18, 2011.
Dupree’s unexpired term will end on December 31, 2012.
