The Eastman-Dodge County Recreation Department 12U girls’ all-star team participated in the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Recreation Department Invitational Tournament on June 1-4. 2011. Dodge was forced to forfeit the first game on June 1 because the team was playing in Lyons. On Thursday, June 2, the girls played in Lyons, then headed to Hawkinsville to battle their first game in the loser’s bracket. Dodge defeated rival Bleckley County 21-0. On Saturday, June 4, Dodge continued to overcome their opponents defeating Telfair County 14-0. Dodge then faced undefeated Wilcox County. Dodge girls did not hold back. They won 12-1, therefore they had to play Wilcox again in order to clinch the championship. Dodge came out victorious beating Wilcox 14-1.
