Dodge County Sheriff Jeff Hinson announces his second annual yearly report to the citizens of Dodge County.

Dodge County Sheriff’s Office records show that during 2010, deputies responded to 12,614 calls from the Dodge/Wilcox 911 Center.

There were 1,364 adults arrested by deputies and booked into the Dodge County jail.

There were 1,266 incident reports filed with the sheriff’s office including 71 for domestic violence.

Deputies investigated and filed accident reports for 282 wrecks in Dodge County during 2010. The sheriff’s office recorded/served 1,316 criminal arrest warrants for various offenses. Deputies served 2,556 various civil court papers and subpoenas including 685 child support papers. Deputies drove 484,802 miles on patrol and/or transporting prisoners.

In 2010, three (3) employees of the sheriff’s office required medical treatment for injuries occurring in the line of duty. One (1) detention officer was assaulted while working in the Dodge County jail. In addition, there were two (2) deputies injured as a result of auto accidents.

Deputies referred 698 cases to the Oconee Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution in the Superior Court of Dodge County during 2010. Deputies referred 22 cases to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Georgia for prosecution in the federal court system. Deputies wrote 1,241 traffic citations to the Probate Court of Dodge County, whose total fine amounts have a potential to return $199,681.00 to Dodge County. As of presstime, that total and dispositions were not available from the Probate Court.

In addition, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office directly collected $317,043.15 in various fees and cash bonds. The total potential revenue rendered by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was $529,956.15.

Where will all this revenue go? The county wants the city to pay for housing city inmates. How do they classify city inmates from other inmates? I have never heard of such a thing and I am trying to learn the justice system here.can someone plese tell me.
