Dodge County sheriff’s investigators arrested a Cordele man Saturday, February 5.
Investigators have charged Brent Albert Hamm (age 46), with burglary and felony theft by taking.
Investigators allege that Hamm gained unlawful entry to a residence just outside of Chester while the occupants were hospitalized.
Hamm allegedly stole eighteen thousand dollars ($18,000) worth of silver bars and precious metals from the residence.
Sheriff’s investigators, with the help of Laurens County sheriff’s investigators, were able to recover a portion of the stolen items.
The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office assisted Dodge investigators in locating Hamm after he was identified during the investigation.
