This is the 2nd fatality that I can recall in the past few years, where a high speed chase has resulted in a death. Honestly, is a DUI really worth that.....How would you feel if it had been someone that you love? In larger towns, high speed chases are off limits to officers, especially for petty crimes. Let's face it, a tag number could have been gotten and the officers could have quietly gone to the house later to pick up the perp.

"a tag number could have been gotten and the officers could have quietly gone to the house later to pick up the perp. " Really?? So what if the police would have gotten a tag number and called it a night and then the perp ran head on into someone and killed them as well?
