For those who are busy pointing the finger, they should realize that there is plenty of blame to go around. Good, bad or indifferent, we all had a part in making this nation what she has become. We are a nation of people who continue to abuse so many of the things that we have been blessed with. It’s sad to see so many Americans living day by day as if everything is OK. No one has a desire to put a damper on progress but Americans have allowed themselves to out-fox themselves in almost every aspect of the economy.
There is no advantage in living in an over kill. Success is not doing the same thing over and over while getting the same result. We all believe in free enterprise. Progress is at the root when it comes to the growth of a nation. For several generations, America has moved so fast that there has been no room for a fallback. This continues to happen because our priority has become to get all you can with little or no regard for others. Taking advantage of others has become the order of the day, especially in the area of finance.
Let us review some of America’s downfalls. The three major American car dealers have somewhat in the neighborhood of thirty different cars each. Prices keep rising in order to pay the inflated salaries of the CEOs. We must not overlook the thousands of cars that are imported into this country. Most of America’s products are over priced in order to make the big bucks.
When you look at some of your bills you will see so many little add-ons that no one seems to be able to explain. Most advertising is never upfront. It’s one thing to tell me what a good finance rate I will get for a year, but what am I up against after that year?
Fifty years ago a carton of cigarettes cost two dollars or less but today, most cost almost fifteen dollars. Do we take notice of the salary that is paid to some of our ball players in sports? Have we stopped believing in the Holy Bible when the holy word teaches us that our Savior will supply all our needs?
Out of what seems like twenty kinds of milk on the market, there is one that is really new called Silk. There are four different kinds of Silk alone.
A farmer who pays four or five hundred thousand dollars for a tractor is not taking the price of fuel into consideration. He is going to have to find some short cuts.
There is no doubt that America is faced with many difficult problems. While this nation is faced with so much unemployment, there are so many that will be content with a government hand out. Technology is taking her toll because too many of today’s students are not prepared because they are failing to prepare. Concerning those that cannot find a job, I wonder what they are qualified to do. There are things that they could do in our local community. They would rather not do anything but receive minimum wages. We are living in a time when a little bit of something is not worth a whole lot of nothing.
One of America’s biggest cripplers is the lack of a home with a God-fearing father and mother. Yes, this is America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. Like it or not, the one thing we all can say is it’s our own fault.
Thank you and Lord bless,
