Lady Warriors win region

In the semi-final game against Bleckley County, the Warriors had a slow start. At the end of the third inning, Bleckley was winning 2-1. Dodge rallied back in the last three innings to over take the Barons 13 to 5. Leading hitters were Claire Greer 3-for-4, Ty Northcutt 2-for-3, and Madison Mullis 2-for-2. Katie Selph was the winning pitcher. This win placed the Lady Warriors in the championship game against the Vidalia Lady Chiefs.
The championship game against Vidalia was a nail-biter. At the end of the third inning the score was tied 0 to 0. Vidalia went ahead in the top of the fifth inning 2-0. Dodge scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the score again at 2-2. Dodge went ahead 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning with a base hit by Claire Peacock. At the top of the seventh Vidalia’s bats came alive, scoring three runs putting them ahead 5-3. Dodge retaliated scoring two runs, which tied the game 5-5 and sent it into a sudden death tiebreaker. With their last out on second base, Vidalia was unable to score due to outstanding defense by Ty Northcutt. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Dodge had the chance to win. With Katie Selph on second, the DCMS Warriors had Claire Greer up at the plate. Selph advanced to third on a stolen base, now Dodge had the winning run on third. Greer hit a shot up the middle for a single, scoring Selph. Dodge won the game 6-5. Leading hitters were Claire Greer 2-for-3, Lauren Belflower 2-for-4, and Claire Peacock 2-for-3. Katie Selph was the winning pitcher.
