Deputies respond to fights, make drug arrests

The victim and witnesses told sheriff’s investigators that three (3) men assaulted the victim and that one of the suspects allegedly hit the victim with a brick. Investigators have arrested Calvin Taylor (age 33) of Eastman, in connection with the incident. Taylor has been charged with aggravated assault by the sheriff’s office. Investigators state that more arrests are pending in the case.

Deputies arrested Can Huff (age 20) of Eastman, on Wednesday, October 20. Huff is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects. On Thursday, October 21, sheriff’s narcotics investigators and school resource officers arrested Lonnie B. Clay (age 18) of Eastman. Clay is charged with possession of marijuana in a school zone.

Deputies were called to property on Kirkpatrick Road in the Roddy area by officials from the State Bank of Cochran. The property is mortgaged to the bank and is in foreclosure. Bank officials arrived to find that the customer was tearing down the barns on the property. Arrest warrants were taken on Angel Rodriquez (age 46), in connection with the case. Rodriquez is charged with damaging or destroying property to defraud another.
