Dear editor,
I keep hearing on TV commercials how Georgia is at the bottom of the barrel on education. This is not a complex problem. The problem is:
1. Parents who do NOT care. They send their child to school and do not care if their child learns or not. They do not care where their child is or what gang they are in.
2. The board of education keeps adding things to the program that has nothing to do with education. We need to go back to the basics, reading, writing, math, science, social studies. We DO NOT need to add the other stuff in the education. It is up to the parents to decide on what morals to teach their child, not the government. Have we not learned that once the government gets involved, it is all down hill after that.
