The Seventh Annual Miss Dodge County High School Pageant was held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Magnolia Theater in downtown Eastman.

The following young ladies competed for the title of Miss DCHS in their respective category:

Freshmen division contestants were Samantha Campbell, Erica Morgan Clements, Alicia Linzy, Brooke Moore, Breanna LaFavor, Chloe Abigail Fitz and Macy Coleman.

Sophomore division contestants were Myona Bra’Chelle Clemons, Sierra Brooks, Ashley Phillips, Breezy Strohmetz, Morgan Pruett, Sarah Ashley Winans, Courtney Nicole Branch and Sara Elizabeth Evans.

Junior division contestants were Brooke Yvonne Logue, Sharena Wrease, Kendall Adcock, Callie DeAnne Spires and Brianna Caroline Jessup.

Senior division contestants were Brittany Sorrell, Devin Jena Jones, Jessi Wright and Shana Oxford.

The 2010 Queens Kourtney Peacock (senior), Brittany Sorrell (junior), Logan Woodard (sophomore), and Gabbi Jones (freshman) took their final walk and crowned the 2011 queens.

Senior winners were Jessi Wright, first runner-up; Devin Jones, senior queen and prettiest hair; Shana Oxford, second runner-up and prettiest dress; and Brittany Sorrell, photogenic.

Junior winners were Brooke Logue, first runner up and photogenic; Breanna Jessup, Junior Queen and prettiest hair; Callie Spires, second runner-up and prettiest dress; Kendall Adcock, third runner-up.

Sophomore winners were Sierra Brooks, second runner-up; Breezy Strohmetz, sophomore queen; Courtney Branch, first runner-up, prettiest hair, prettiest dress and photogenic; Sarah Ashley Winans, people’s choice.

Freshmen winners were Alisha Linzy, prettiest hair; Brooke Moore, freshman queen; Chloe Fitz, prettiest dress; and Macy Coleman, photogenic.

The reason that dodge co let the blacks be in the pagent because they dont want it to look like its only for the whites so they dont have a choice but to play that roll.Its really strange that you have only one black kid in the pagent and she dont win anything but look just as good as those white kids. Get real dodge co. its all about the white kids .

No, this was not a whites-only pageant. Several non-white students were originally signed-up to participate, but later chose not to participate in the pageant. There was one non-white student in the pageant, though she did not win. As a matter of fact, even one of the judges was non-white.

By the way...what makes you think there were no non whites present? There are only four girls represented in the photo. Can you honestly look at the list of contestants and say that only white girls were participating, base on only the names?

One more thing, how about putting a verb in your name "WE all the same" has no verb. Should be "We ARE all the same." Or, based on your apparent racist comments, "WE are NOT all the same."

DCHS is almost 50 per cent "non-white", you think there would be more than just one in this pageant.

We can tell this is dodge co. with all this racial comments about blacks and trying to correct someone on their spelling. All yall need to get a grip on life because i really am sick of the racial remarks from you, cherokee and all the other whites with this bull crap. Yes the black females dont want to sign up for these pagents because they already know the white girls are going to win no matter what and plus they are in dodge co., Yall whites just dont care about showing how racial yall are in dodge co. but when judgement day come , it aint go matter what color you are when god call your name,yall white people are really stupid and need to get out of this color thing, WE ARE ALL THE SAME OK.

I don't think this is a white only pageant. My deceased daughter won several trophies from competing in pageants that had all races in them.She went from high school all over( another state)competing against other races that had blacks ,whites, native americans and other races in them. We never saw pageants as being racial. It is up to parents to get their children involved in this activity. My daughter won her last trophy (first place) by competing in the International YOUTH PAGEANT.As I look around my home office I see 10 trophies she won but I was there as a parent to encourage her to compete. She is deceased now but she left me fond memories of being there for her, So please DONOT see this as a white only pageant. Parents should ENCOURAGE their daughters to compete no matter what race is competing. Maybe in the DCHS pageant no blacks competed so the show had to go on. If someone has a daughter who wishes to compete next year I am willing to help them with the experience I have.PARENTS NEED TO GET INVOLVED.

The pageant was probably open to any race that would have paricipated. Parents should take the oppertunity to get involved with such activity as this. Please donot play the race card here. I am a person who has the knowledge of helping young ladies compete in such activity. I have helped girls of all races get ready for that final day of being crowned. I have 10 trophies in my home office that my deceased daughter won.

Do you have a decased daughter that won 10 trophies that are displayed in your home office? If so our daughters left us with fond memories. Our competitions took us to Orlando Fl,Port Saint Joe Fl. and other places where the International Youth Pageants were held.
She also participated in city youth pagents such as recreational centers in another state. I look at her beautiful pictures and when I show them to others, they tell me

that she was too beautiful to die she was beautiful inside and out but I tell them God didnot think so, he gave her to me for 26yrs. When I get to see her on the other side we will rejoice about the beautiful times we had togeter at pageants. She graduated from High School and put her art portfolio together with the help of one of her instructer so she could attend the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota Fl. When asthma claimed her life she was an art major at the University of Hawaii(Honolulu).Dec.29,1999. Parents the sky is the limit so be there and encourage your kids to do positive things in their lives. I was a working mother sometimes having to work double shifts as a regristered nurse so it was not easy for me to participate with my kids in their activites but I found the time to do so with the help of God. My daughter was an artist and got accepted in the Women Cacus of Art. We had several dinners at the Sarasota Garden Club(Sararota Fl). This is where she was inducted in the Women Carcus of Art.(R.I.P.Julie Ann Hodges).

It is a shame this conversation is taking place! I for one KNOW this pageant is open to ALL races. Anyone (white, black, red, green) who sees innocent activities for the youth of this county as a race issue should be looking into their OWN heart!

First of all, those kind of pageant already know you they are going to pick. They pick the same girls every year. Of course it was standard that they go by but it was to make it look legit. You should be able to say it is not a race thing but the truth is the truth. When I went to school, we was all treated equal, what happen to that?

I am sorry if I jumped to the conclusion of blaming the parents, after reading all the neg. comments about the pageant then I will suggest that if favortism is being shown, NOW is the time for the black girls to STAND UP and let their VOICES BE HEARD in person, by telling the approiate school officials IN A NICE WAY how you feel. NOW IS THE TIME donot wait until the next pageant occur.If you don't speak out no change might not never take place. If you are not going to try and change a situation then don't complain(this is what my mother taught me). I would like to see a copy of the criteria for entering the pageant. Can someone tell me how to go about doing that. Love you my sisters(ALL RACES)!

This is sooo rediculous. First of all for you idiots who are quick to claim all of this is be against one race.....
1. Ms. Dodge County High School is one that ANYONE can sign THEMSELVES UP FOR. No one choses them, no one appoints them. They sign up on their OWN free will. There fore if no blacks signed up...how could they win.
2. Ms. Chieftan as well as the Homecoming are chosen by the students. NOT teachers, not staff.
Maybe if you would have stayed in school long enough you would know this.
Also, the judges are not looking for HOT gurlz or what ever. They are looking for LADIES, classy young ladies who display GOOD MORALS AND VALUES.
