The Dodge County Indians football team hosted the Swainsboro Tigers this past Friday, September 17, 2010 in region 3AA action and lost 26-14 to the Tigers.
The Indians took the opening kickoff and returned to their 35-yard line, but were unable to move the ball and punted the ball to the Tigers. Swainsboro took over at the Indian 46 and wasted little time as six plays later they scored on a six yard run to take a 7-0 lead after the extra point kick was good at the 7:00 mark of the first quarter.
The teams swapped punts on their next possessions before Dodge took over at the Tiger 38 yard line. From there quarterback D’Eric McNair completed three passes to Rhett Honeycutt, Devon Simmons and then an 18-yard touchdown pass to Curtis Rushing and the Indians had tied the game at 7-7 after Cole Evans’ extra point kick at the 8:49 mark in the second quarter.
