Why hasn’t Rove endorsed O’Donnell?

Rove now says these people have moved ahead and are now even in polls. Why hasn’t Rove endorsed O’Donnell? Had he rather see the most liberal (Castle) win because he has a Mr. in front of his name? If Castle wins the Delaware senate seat he will vote for every bill that Obama wants to pass.

Could it be that if Rove comes out and supports O’Donnell with large sums of money, that Rove says he an raise and the O’Donnell loss the election to a democrat in November, would that hurt his ego. Maybe Rove should take a page out of Georgia Politics in the era of Gene Talmadge in the 30s.

The books that I have read about Georgia elections in that ear are very different than today. Case in point, in a big political gathering in Douglas for ole Talmadge, where BBQ or fried fish were available free of charge with iced tea or some other kind of drinks that might have been illegal. After the meal and everyone was stuffed full everyone went down to see and hear Talmadge spout out his fire and brimstone speech.

The speaker’s platform was full of some of Talmadge’s most powerful supporters. One could always find some of the largest road builders in the state looking for some favors if Talmadge was elected governor. On this day a road builder from LaGrange, who was known state wide as cement John was selected to introduce Talmadge.

There were about 10 to 15 thousand in the crowd. Cement John was about half way through with his introduction of Talmadge when some drunken fellow staggered up to the platform and shouted out. “I hear that Gene Talmadge is a S.O.B.” It was said that for several minutes one could have heard a pin drop. Cement John then shouted out, “If Gene Talmadge is a S.O.B. then he is our S.O.B.”

So maybe Rove could learn from ole Cement John and support O’Donnell.
